Our Purchasers are responsible for the timely placement of purchase orders and delivery of Mechanical and Electrical materials to meet manufacturing and customer requirements and to maintain stock inventory levels within approved guidelines. The successful candidate must be independent, highly organized and a strong communicator as developing good relationships with both external vendors and internal teams including Inside Sales, Engineering, Accounting and Manufacturing departments is a key factor in success of this role.



  • Source, select and negotiate the best purchase package in terms of quality, price, terms, deliveries and services with suppliers.
  • Plan and manage inventory levels of purchased materials in the portfolio.
  • Provide New Product Introduction support to Engineering.
  • Maintain and setup parts in ERP system (Lead Times, Price, MOQ, Supplier).
  • Purchase material for inventory and non-stock items to support manufacturing, customer orders.
  • Manage purchase order actions (reschedules, cancels, expedites, confirmations) and ensure on-time delivery. Communicate in a timely manner on inability to deliver on time to our customers.
  • Develop a strong positive rapport with all our vendors, and become the main contact for Avigilon Corporation
  • Actively plan & execute cost reduction opportunities.
  • Responsible for the timely management of supplier non-conformances, returns and rework.
  • Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and suppliers' invoices as required.
  • Coordinate and execute quarterly and year-end inventory counts.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with MRP software (Sage)
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Excellent English communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with NPI support
  • Post-secondary education in Operations, Inventory or purchasing Management- Enrollment in the PMAC' certification program SCMP is desirable
  • Self-motivated person who enjoys challenges and working in a fast-paced environment
