User Interface Team Lead

Avigilon (TSX: AVO) provides trusted security solutions to the global market. Avigilon designs, develops, and manufactures video analytics, network video management software and hardware, surveillance cameras, and access control solutions. Avigilon’s solutions have been installed at thousands of customer sites, including school campuses, transportation systems, healthcare centers, public venues, critical infrastructure, prisons, factories, casinos, airports, financial institutions, government facilities, and retailers.


Responsibilities include:


  • Design, implement, and maintain code for our industry leading, end-to-end security monitoring solutions
  • Work closely with product management, system architects, UX designers, and subject matter experts to help define epics, features, and stories within our agile process
  • Design and implementation of new features
  • Research and suggest direction for key decisions regarding technical architecture, 3rd party tools, and delivery process improvements



  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
  • 2+ years leading technical teams or projects
  • 5+ years .Net development experience
  • Working knowledge of common design patterns
  • Experience with front end technologies such as WPF/C# or HTML/JS/CSS
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated and pro-active with a desire to innovate

Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • A demonstrated pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • Experience designing client facing, enterprise solutions
  • Experience working on teams with embedded UX designers
  • Experience with XAML in WPF and UWP
  • Experience with C++ and C++/CLI
  • Knowledge of digital video or audio encoding, standards, and concepts
  • Exposure to Agile software development practices
  • Experience with unit testing and Test Driven Development
  • Experience with modern source control management systems such as Git or Mercurial
  • Experience with memory profiling and debugging
