Production Supervisor

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating work activities of an hourly workforce to ensure targeted production goals are met. As a production supervisor, you review processing schedules and production orders and make decisions regarding resources needed to meet those schedules and orders.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises production operations to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, production standards and effective operations of equipment
  • Works with multiple departments to review, coordinate, and approve production schedules and departmental maintenance activities
  • Recommends alternative standard operational and working practices as necessary and monitors direct reports to ensure compliance with current standards
  • Takes appropriate actions to correct employees’ performance and/or behavior
  • Provides production updates to the Operations Management team
  • Coordinates shift activities with other production supervisors to increase continuity of operations
  • Participates and contributes to corrective action processes
  • Creates/completes Work Orders within the ERP and manufacturing systems
  • Interviews and recommends candidates for employment and addresses and resolves personnel issues and concerns, through coaching, counselling and performance management in conjunction with the HR department and the Production Manager
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Experience and/or education Post-secondary courses in Supervision and Leadership preferred


  • 3-5 years supervisory experience in an electronics manufacturing facility
  • DBR+ experience is an asset

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of an electronics environment
  • Excellent analytical reasoning and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge and experience with ERP system



  • Strong working knowledge of various computer applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle priorities along with strong organizational skills
  • Time management skills; able to set priorities, handle deadlines, and contingency planning
