Senior Financial Accountant

Avigilon (TSX: AVO) provides trusted security solutions to the global market. Avigilon designs, develops, and manufactures video analytics, network video management software and hardware, surveillance cameras, and access control solutions. Avigilon’s solutions have been installed at thousands of customer sites, including school campuses, transportation systems, healthcare centers, public venues, critical infrastructure, prisons, factories, casinos, airports, financial institutions, government facilities, and retailers.


Responsibilities include: 

  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS
  • Assist with research and practical application of new or amended accounting standards
  • Preparation of statutory financial statements
  • Assist with the timely completion of tax reporting requirements
  • Liaise with external auditors regarding financial reporting at the group and subsidiary level
  • Perform monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Preparation of quarterly review and annual audit working papers
  • Ensure all financial deadlines are met in an accurate and timely manner
  • Understand the Avigilon group structure and intercompany relationships
  • Other duties as required from time to time in support of the Finance department



  • Recently designated or soon-to-be designated CPA and relevant university degree
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial statement preparation
  • Multi-currency, multi-jurisdictional consolidation and cash flow experience
  • Very strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with both internal and external parties
  • Detail-oriented and results driven
  • Ability to organize and balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite


Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills and experience: 

  • Experience with SAP
  • Experience with Workiva or a similar reporting tool
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Practical experience with, or auditing, a public, multinational company
