Commission Systems Analyst, Global Sales Operations

Plano, TX


The Commission Systems Analyst, Global Sales Operations will work under general supervision of the Senior Manager, Global Sales Operations and have commission process and systems responsibilities.



Duties and Responsibilities


  • Fully utilize commission system capabilities to manage and administer compensation plans and payments as well as identify areas for automation and process improvements
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of commission payments to payroll
  • Manage variable compensation issues and ensure timely resolution
  • Collaborate with other Sales Operations team members to research and resolve all commission issues, including compensation plans, calculations, and attainments
  • Work with the Sales Operations team standardizing the global commission process, communications and calculation
  • Update commission system to reflect new hire and role transfers compensation plans, accelerators, and other sales compensation elements
  • Maintain the organizational direct and overlay hierarchies within the commission system to ensure accurate crediting
  • Own the annual sales commission set up process including updating credit rules, hierarchies, plan roll-out and other elements that drive accurate reporting and commission payments
  • Create validation workflows to ensure accuracy across ERP and commission systems
  • Provide support for cross-functional compensation related inquiries and requests from finance, sales operations, payroll and Sales Leadership
  • Own accounting function specific to development of the variable compensation accruals including improving the accrual accuracy and timeliness
  • Identify process improvement initiatives and define standards for new processes
  • Ability to take business requirements and convert them in to Functional and Technical Requirements
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and guidelines
  • Provide guidance and training to sales teams on commission plan structures, reports, policy, and other relevant processes.
  • Provide support for cloud based system implementation as required
  • Other duties as assigned




  • Database concepts including relational database principles & data storage
  • Knowledge of SQL server tools along with SQL development - ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design
  • Process improvement and project management
  • Reporting principles and concepts, for example, variance analysis, detail and executive summaries, and effective commentary
  • Advanced analytical and judgment skills necessary to identify cause-and-effect relationships and take calculated risks in making decisions
  • Proficient interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, employees, other departments
  • In-depth experience with IT application domain areas and technologies, particularly ERP; A highly effective hands-on practitioner with clear track record of successful delivery and management
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines





  • BS Degree in Information Systems, Mathematics or Other Relative Degree /MBA Preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years Callidus or equivalent commissions packages desired, Callidus certification preferred
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience with SAP successfully managing application projects, data feeds in a commission process environment
  • Experience in working with Sales Data, Sales Commissions and Splits processes in a manufacturing industry
  • Experience improving the quality of process outputs of a team resulting in: i.e. reduced process cycle time, reduced costs, increase customer satisfaction, and increase profits
  • Good Root cause analysis / trouble shooting skills
  • Fluency in Microsoft Applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Exposure to Tableau, SharePoint, Crystal Reports, SQL Reporting Services, EDI
  • Travel to Vancouver, BC or other regions as directed by management
