Instructional Designer

Responsibilities include:


Working under assigned lead, you will:


  • Develop and maintain training content with a focus on instructor-led materials
  • Create training materials which incorporate contemporary instructional design theories and student-centered activities that are visually engaging
  • Quality control and improve instructor-led training through developing interactive and engaging student-centered activities (such as simulations, games, assessments, animations, graphics or other visual communication)
  • Work with subject matter experts to create and maintain training curricula for Avigilon’s various departments
  • Work closely with trainers globally to collect and implement feedback to continually improve training
  • Work with various departments in the organization to ensure that relevant training content is ready and available prior to the launch
  • Maintain and update existing training based on product introductions, product changes, sales strategy changes and feedback
  • Perform effective project management to meet established deadlines
  • Identify other training needs and assist in development of documentation or other support material
  • Establish project outlines and deadlines for development projects



Qualifications: You will possess:

  • A minimum of a degree or diploma in adult education, educational studies, instructional design, visual communication, graphic design or related field
  • Advanced knowledge of current instructional and educational design theories and methodologies
  • Proven knowledge of graphic design or visual communication design principles
  • 2 or more years developing student-centered training content that involved the development of graphic design, visual communication or multimedia content
  • Proficiency with a variety of graphic editors such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Flash, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premiere, Camtasia, GoAnimate, etc.
  • Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools such as Captivate or Articulate
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software such as PowerPoint and Word
  • Proven ability to write clearly and concisely for a corporate audience
  • Project and time management skills
  • Demonstrated experience working in a collaborative team based environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, and drive 
  • Self-starter, able to effectively work independently
