    What kind of impact can you have? How about influencing the technology roadmap of two of the top three server vendors worldwide, or helping Avigilon capture new market segments with customers who need to work with petabytes of storage -- all while working with the latest, most bleeding edge technology.  We work on challenges like finding ways to squeeze 25% faster disk performance than OEM vendors can offer and architecting an end-to-end product solution that our customers love to deploy.

    Within your first 30 days you’ll:

    • Test, benchmark, and optimize servers, embedded systems with tools like diskspd, iometer, xperf, perfmon, iostat;
    • Get a broad overview of a distributed video management system from end to end;
    • Build relationships with internal software teams, technical support, product management, sourcing, manufacturing, and others including third party vendors.

    After three months you will:

    • Work on platform selection with other team members for our products;
    • Master documentation requirements and communicate clearly with other business units who depend on your support for their operations;
    • Work with our manufacturing team to assemble and configure / mass produce servers via disk imaging.

    Within 6 months you should:

    • Develop scripts for application-based testing;
    • Automate testing of hardware and software using Powershell scripting, but optionally also code in C# and contribute to our benchmarking / testing suite.

    After a year you should be:

    • Characterizing workloads to assist other team members in software & devices to make key changes to product elements;
    • Fine tuning a rolling disk image system available to manufacturing daily, with automated testing, etc;
    • Assist in designing end-to-end petabyte scale solutions comprised of SAN, NAS, rackmount servers and L2/L3 switches.

    Perks and Benefits:

    As a full-time employee at Avigilon, you are eligible to receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes MSP, extended health, dental, and medical insurance while travelling. You will also receive a health spending account to cover additional healthcare costs, such as vision care, RMT and chiropractor visits.
