    About the Team

     

    The Product Quality Team is responsible for upholding the quality of all Avigilon products. These products can range from software features, web applications, video analytics, mobile applications, hardware appliances, and more! We are a multidisciplinary team of test developers that support the testing needs of a product from prototype to release.

     

    About the Role

     

    As a Test Developer, you will work closely with software developers, project managers, and product managers to create high-quality products. You have great attention to detail, in addition to being able to identify system-wide dependencies. You wear two pairs of shoes, the customer’s and your own, and you believe that an intuitive design is the best design. You recognize the importance of performance, stability, and uptime for security systems. You enjoy finding creative solutions to a wide-range of testing challenges.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan, design, document, and perform tests for software and hardware products
    • Develop, maintain, and execute automated tests for software and hardware products
    • Design and develop tools to facilitate testing of software and hardware products
    • Identify, reproduce, and report product defects
    • Model and characterize product performance and scalability metrics
    • Create and maintain documentation on test and development operations
    • Liaise between product development teams to ensure accuracy of processes and product quality
    • Design and develop internal tools to improve process efficiency

    Qualifications

    • Has a degree or diploma in a computing, engineering, science, or math discipline
    • Has 1-3 years of demonstrated experience in a testing role
    • Has experience with object-oriented programming, coding skills, and test automation frameworks
    • Is familiar in: C#, C++, Python, Ruby, shell scripting, Powershell, JavaScript
    • Able to deal well with ambiguous or undefined problems
    • Has the ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
    • Has excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, and analytical skills
    • Has experience testing in both Windows and Linux environments
    • Able to setup and configure computers, virtual machines, and networks to support testing
