    Reporting to the Senior Manager for Strategic Planning and Market Intelligence, the Avigilon Strategic Planning and Market Intelligence Analyst (SPMIA) will gather intelligence on the market and top competitors and their products to help the company make informed decisions and compete effective in the global marketplace. The SPMIA will also occasionally support the Advanced Technology Group in specific technology discovery and evaluation missions. This role will help filter critical, important and non-essential information and support the creation of market and competitive briefings to the product management, marketing, sales and executive teams. The analyses and conclusions will help improve Avigilon sales, marketing performance, product development and counter potential threats to Avigilon business.


    The responsibilities on the strategic planning side of this role include:

    • Review global and regional industry and market data, and accurately interpret and convert findings into actionable intelligence to be used within various areas of the organization
    • Support the Senior Manager, Strategic Planning and Market Intelligence, in responding to tactical and strategic intelligence requests concerning relevant developments in market and industry
    • Support technology research and testing by the Advanced Technology Group through project-tracking function
    • Prepare and write regular market and industry updates in preparation for quarterly business reviews
    • Create and deliver market and technology updates in webinar/podcast format to stakeholders in the company
    • Create and sustain relationships with internal experts and external partners, vendors, and producers of research materials to ensure adequate source materials for analysis

    The responsibilities on the competitive side of this role include:

    • Prepare insightful and accurate evaluations and analyses of competitive threats and opportunities; translate knowledge into concrete competitive advantage messaging
    • Filter internal requests for intelligence with a focus on prioritization and timely response
    • Synthesize information to develop comprehensive assessments of industry situations and competitive strategies
    • Contribute to and manage content of repository of market and competitive data
    • Regularly attend industry-specific tradeshows to gather market and competitive insights


    • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance or related field required
    • Two (2) years analysis and report publication experience required
    • Solid understanding of market and competitive assessment tools, ideally with a global security or technology company
    • Advanced proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and presentation computer software applications
    • Ability to develop detailed reports, and translate complex data into easily understood insights
    • Demonstrated problem solving skills, resourcefulness, and creativity
    • Excellent teamwork skills and an ability to develop & maintain internal and external relationships
    • Excellent written and verbal skills
    • Strong presentation skills
    • Aptitude for technology and the ability to connect technical concepts with customer value
    • Strategic thinking and ability to define and pursue high level objectives
    • Proven ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing work product quality


    • Knowledge of surveillance and security industry
    • MBA
    • Knowledge of principles and practices in economics, financial markets and analysis and reporting of financial data
    • Language skills beyond English: preferred Russian, Spanish, German, Mandarin
