    Senior NPI Materials Specialist

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provides guidance for sourcing, planning and purchasing decisions as part of a cross functional team responsible for new product development.
    • Manage supply chain activities in coordination with Design Engineering team to acquire material in a cost-effective and timely manner for development, prototype, and early production requirements
    • Provide coaching and training to other NPI Material Specialists, and will oversee and balance workloads among the team
    • Manage tactical purchasing activities, such as expediting material, past due PO’s, open PO’s, PO confirmations, receiving, and accounts payable related issues
    • In coordination with Strategic Sourcing Managers, support RFQs to suppliers for new products, including, analyzing and negotiating quotations
    • Continue to develop and grow in your understanding of products purchased and products developed by Avigilon
    • Participate in cross-functional meetings and project review meetings as a representative of NPI Material Specialist team
    • Assist with new supplier sourcing and integration, including contributing in the qualification and development of new suppliers as part of a broader sourcing strategy
    • Recommend cost saving proposals, alternative sources, and volume pricing structures
    • Maintain purchasing data integrity in ERP and PLM systems
    • Manage the interface between Engineering and production ramp-up
    • Manage project transition from development to production and lead material hand-off to Operations Buyers
    • Participate in forecast review support for product EOL and LTB constraint updates
    • Coordinate ECO activities with suppliers on behalf of Engineering

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Post-secondary education in operations, inventory or purchasing management

    Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience of Procurement, Planning, Sourcing in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
    • Experience in Electronic Industry will be a good advantage
    • In depth knowledge and experience of MRP is required
    • Experience in SAP is a preferred
    • Experience with NPI support preferred
    • Experience in electronics industry is advantageous

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Proficient with MS Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel
    • Detail Oriented
    • Demonstrated ability to follow or develop effective processes and drive results
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively and promptly problem solve

    Other Items:

    • Enrollment in the PMAC certification program, SCMP or APICs is desirable

    Working Conditions

    • Office Environment with some light box lifting sometimes required
