    Responsibilities include:

    • Conceptualize and design electronic enclosures for both indoor and outdoor environments
    • Perform mechanical strength and tolerance analysis using FEM and other tools
    • Design of thermal solutions (ie. Heat sinks, heat pipes) to ensure temperature specifications are met
    • using CFD thermal Analysis tools and prototyping
    • Design and perform testing of physical integrity at parts and system level
    • Ability to use DFM and DFA tools to ensure design goals are met
    • Design and perform testing of physical integrity at parts and system level
    • Design/Documentation resource during the ECR process
    • Evaluates and recommends changes to techniques and design to find the most effective solution
    • Prepares design and drawings while maintaining the quality of product for the project
    • Reviews drawings and designs to ensure standards of quality and accuracy are met
    • Estimating and tracking of time and costs related to all of the responsibilities above
    • Ensuring product designs comply with regulatory agency requirements
    • Work closely with Manufacturing, Product and Project Management to specify, develop and implement
    • successful designs
    • Ability to work in a team environment

    Qualifications:

    • A Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent.
    • 7+ year’s minimum relevant experience.
    • Proficient in the use of 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
    • Proven experience in material and manufacturing process selection for parts.
    • Proven experience in designing products for mass production.
    • Strong interpersonal and motivational skills to work well within a team environment and liaise with
    • internal clients.
    • Ability to justify design decisions with calculations, analysis and written documentation.
    • Experience in designing products for outdoor use including IP66, 67,and 68 ratings as well as elevated
    • and below freezing temperatures.
    • Experience with designing thermal solutions for embedded, outdoor products
    • Familiar with regulatory agency requirements.
