    Production Manager

    Plano, TX

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Plan and manage inventory levels of purchased materials
    • Maintain parts in the ERP system including lead times, price, MOQ and Supplier
    • Purchase material for inventory and non-stock items to support manufacturing and customer orders
    • Manage purchase order actions (reschedules, cancels, expedites, confirmations) and ensures on time delivery.  Communicate in a timely manner on inability to deliver on time to our customers
    • Develop a strong positive rapport with vendors
    • Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and suppliers’ invoices
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement ideas for cost savings.
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    Qualifications 

     

    Education:

    • Undergraduate degree in Operations, Inventory, or Purchasing or 5+ years of experience in a purchasing role

    Experience:

    • Experience buying raw materials in a production environment is highly desirable
    • APICs certification is a plus
    • 5-10 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment

     

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools & ERP Systems
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Creative, adaptable to new situations
    • Exceptional customer service skills and experience
    • High attention to detail
    • Demonstrated ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously
    • Proven negotiation skills
    • Extensive experience working with MRP software (SAP experience is ideal)
    • Extensive knowledge of MS Excel
    • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Self-motivated person who enjoys challenges and working in a fast-paced environment
